Orlando vs Boston
2/05/10
A big theme of our season so far has been our performance against Orlando and Boston.
We’ve played Boston four times and beat them every time, but we’ve played Orlando three times and lost to them each time.
It's hard to say why we've done so well against one and not the other. I think that maybe we play better against Boston because of how the rivalry started a couple years ago in the playoffs – we’ve gotten to know them better and what works against them. They’ve added good players like Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels, but we still match up the same with them as before.
Orlando is different – they have a lot of three-point shooters, and they have Dwight Howard. He is really hard to guard in the post, and we clearly still have work to do to figure out how to attack them. Fortunately, we’ve still got one more game against them this season in our house, and we will definitely work hard to not get swept by them. The games have been blowouts, but we’ve had leads in some of them, so we think we can get it done, we just have to execute.
Us, Boston, Orlando, and Cleveland seem to be the clear top four teams in the East, so it's likely we may have to play one of those teams at some point in the playoffs. We need to figure out how to beat all of them come playoff time.
